After winning his first two preliminary bouts, PV's 152 pounder, Chris Servian suffered a close loss. Beaten, but not defeated, Chris wrestled back in the consolation rounds winning his last match as a high school wrestler by pin to take 7th place. Congratulations Chris!
Chris Servian avenged his District loss by beating Jimmy Sheptock of Northampton 3-1 in the 152lb championships. Buddy Gouger suffered a last second upset by previous District opponient Mike Wechsler, 160 pounder also of Northampton. The pair will be joined by their teammate Jordon Toledo who also qualified for States at 112 pounds. Good luck Bears!
Ryan Symancek of Pleasant Valley beat out over 120 other racers to take the Pennsylvania Cup Series in the 19-and-under category.
Buddy Gouger, 160lb wrestler for Pleasant Valley, leads four other teammates to the Northeast Region Wrestling Tournament at Freedom next weekend. Other PV wrestlers advancing include: Chris Servian, second at 152; Matt Yanovich, third at 119; Jordan Toledo, fourth at 112 and Jake Chamberlain, fifth at 130. Good luck Bears!
